As an internet marketer you know that your website is your bread and butter. It is where you convince site visitors to become buyers. It’s critical, as you know, to have a site that performs well in your marketing. Yet… your blog or website will only be one aspect in your IM business. You also have to get people to visit your website if you want to make the sale. People need to know you exist so they can visit and spend all their money with you.
It’s a good idea to submit your site to the secondary search engines, but avoid doing that with the major search engines using their submission form. Using Google’s manual form submission process will take longer, and you can get it done faster with social media techniques. It will take several hours to manually submit to the smaller engines – and it’s not 100% necessary, either. You can definitely receive traffic from them and rank easier, the major engines will also view that as your site being more popular. There are tons of ways to get backlinks, and some are certainly more valuable than others. But the name of the game is “natural,” or appearing to be natural to Google, so having a variety of backlink sources will only help you in the eyes of the major search engines.
Look for people who can contribute good content to your website. Tell them that if they give you an article in your niche topic, you’ll publish a link back to their website. There are two ways that this arrangement is worthwhile for you. Getting outbound links is one way to improve your page rank. In addition to the outbound link, you’ll be getting an inbound link too. If you publish something written by someone else, there’s a good chance they will note this on their own site, creating a link to your site. So this technique gives you links that are both inbound and outbound, and you can also get traffic directly from the site of the person who contributed the article!
It won’t hurt to use Meta tag information, and it will help in some situations and engines. For blogs, you’ll always want to use them or have an SEO plugin that will help you with that. It’s good on-page SEO factors if you use the page title and description Meta tags.
You will want to avoid any differences between title and description information and your page content, as well. There are some benefits with using Meta tags, and they are not hard to do.
There are literally hundreds of ways to create traffic to your site. But it’s a process that is always continuing and neverending. You need to spend time every day building links to your site and encouraging people to check out what you are selling. With so much to do and so much variety, it’s not necessary for it to be terribly boring. If it helps, maybe thinking about your profits will offset any feelings of extreme boredom.
